29-Year-Old Melbourne Woman Dies in I-95 Crash on Friday, Two Injured

A 29-year-old Melbourne woman has died after two-vehicle crash on I-95 happened Friday afternoon near mile marker 161.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 29-year-old Melbourne woman has died after two-vehicle crash on I-95 happened Friday afternoon near mile marker 161.

Authorities say crash happened when a vehicle was stopped on the inside southbound lane with its hazards on. A second vehicle driven by the 29-year-old woman attempted to avoid the crash but failed to do so as she tried to switch lanes.

The result of the crash caused the woman to strike the vehicle, travel off the roadway and overturned on its roof after striking a guardrail. Due to the impact the woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

A passenger inside the vehicle, identified as a 31-year-old woman from Melbourne, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The driver of the first vehicle, a 33-year-old man from Lake Park, also sustained minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
