BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech Graduate Student Ricky Fedorchak of Florida Tech men’s lacrosse earned CSC Academic All-America honors from the College Sports Communicators on Wednesday receiving second-team honors.

Fedorchak becomes the fourth Panther to be selected as an Academic All-American in program history joining Austin Engeler ( Second Team / 2023), JP Panchookian (Third Team / 2023), and Logan Sweeney (Third Team / 2019).

The 2024 Academic All-America® Men’s At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

The CSC Men’s At-Large program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, tennis, volleyball, water polo, and wrestling.

Working towards his master’s degree in Space System Management, Fedorchak posted a cumulative 4.00 GPA over the 2023-24 academic school year.

Recently Fedorchak earned the status of USILA Scholar All-American along with being named to Florida Tech’s Athletic Directors Honor Roll and Spring SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Not only an All-American in the classroom but for his hard work on the field as well, the defender was also named a USILA and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American Honorable Mention.

The West Friendship, Maryland native set the program record for most caused turnovers per game in a single season as with 50 caused turnovers in 15 games he averaged 3.33 per game.

This average allowed Fedorchak to lead the SSC in the Category while also finishing the season with the third-highest average in the Country.

His 50-caused turnovers in a single season are the second most by a Panther in program history behind Jordan Carlock (51 / 2015). Along with his single-season caused turnover statics, Fedorchak also tied the program and SSC record for caused turnovers in a game when he recorded eight against Embry-Riddle on April 6th.

With 46 ground balls, Fedorchak also averaged 2.93 ground balls per game which was good enough to rank 12th in the SSC and record the 7th-highest average in a career in program history.
