Holy Trinity Boys Win FHSAA Class 1A State Track and Field Champions, Evan Spreitzer Takes 1,600-Meter Run

Holy Trinity captured the 2026 FHSAA Track and Field State Championships with 68 points, finishing 12 points ahead of the runner-up school. Leading the Tigers was Evan Spreitzer, who won his second consecutive state championship in the 1,600-meter run.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – From the University of North Florida, Brevard County athletes once again delivered standout performances at the 2026 FHSAA Track and Field State Championships, earning state titles and top finishes across multiple classifications.

Holy Trinity captured the Class 1A boys state championship with 68 points, finishing 12 points ahead of the runner-up school.

Leading the Tigers was Evan Spreitzer, who won his second consecutive state championship in the 1,600-meter run.

Spreitzer also finished second in the 3,200-meter run. The Furman signee was previously named the Breakfast of Champions Cross Country runner of the year.

In Class 1A boys competition, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy’s Luke Thomas finished third in the 800-meter run, while teammates Camryn McRoy and Jaeden McMillan placed second and third, respectively, in the 110-meter hurdles.

McRoy also earned a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles.

Holy Trinity’s boys 4×800 relay team placed third, while Melbourne Central Catholic’s Grady Bronenbeger finished fourth in the high jump. McMillan added a second-place finish in the long jump.

On the girls’ side in Class 1A, Holy Trinity seventh grader Taylor Geraghty placed third in the 3,200-meter run, and the Tigers’ 4×100 relay team finished fourth.

In Class 2A boys competition, Cocoa’s Malik Evans finished fourth in the 200-meter dash, while West Shore’s Landon Plechaty placed second in the javelin throw.

Cocoa Beach earned fifth-place finishes in both the 4×400 and 4×800 relays.

For the Class 2A girls, Cocoa’s Diamond Bryant finished second in the 100-meter dash.

In Class 3A boys competition, Rockledge’s Christopher Gordon placed third in the 100-meter dash and second in the 200-meter dash, while teammate Demond Scott Jr. earned a runner-up finish in the high jump.

The Rockledge girls 4×400 relay team placed fourth, while Rockledge finished third and Satellite fourth in the 4×800 relay. Satellite’s Bailey Madsen earned a second-place finish in the javelin throw.

In Class 4A boys competition, Melbourne’s Jeremiah Thomas finished fourth in the high jump, while Viera’s Michal Paul placed third in the long jump.

In Class 2A, Cocoa’s girls 4×100 relay team of I’Yana Barnes, Diamond Bryant, Jayla Edgecombe, and La’Nija Thomas won the state championship for the second straight season.

In Class 3A, the Rockledge boys and Satellite girls each finished fifth in the team standings.

Gordon capped his senior season by winning the Class 3A state championship in the 400-meter dash after already placing in the top three in both the 100 and 200.

Satellite standout Keira Merrick won the 800-meter state title with a time of 2 minutes, 10 seconds. Merrick also helped the Scorpions’ 4×800 relay team to a fourth-place finish.

Satellite’s Celina Coryell added another state championship for Brevard County by winning the 3,200-meter run, crossing the finish line eight seconds ahead of the runner-up.

  • Landon Plechaty of West Shore placed second in the javelin throw.

  • Cocoa Beach finished fifth in the 4 x 400 and 4 x 800.

  • Diamond Bryant of Cocoa placed second in the 100-meter race.
