Brevard Native, Florida Gators Lineman Jamari Lyons Suffers Season-Ending Injury During Scrimmage

Broke his ankle, will be out for the season, appeared in all 12 games last year

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Former Viera Hawk, and current Florida Gator defensive lineman Jamari Lyons, suffered a season-ending ankle injury during a scrimmage Monday.

“Jamari Lyons broke his ankle, and he’ll be out for the season,” Gators head coach Billy Napier told 247 Sports on Monday.

Lyons was preparing for a breakout season after appearing in all 12 games last year.

The 6-foot-3.5, 304-pound Cocoa native played 198 snaps on defense last year. Coming out of high school Lyons had over 30 Division I offers and was a four-star prospect.

He graduated from Viera High School in 2022.
