Military Officers Association in Cape Canaveral Awards $77,000 in Scholarships During Annual Ceremony

The Military Officers Association of America, Cape Canaveral Chapter held its 41st Annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon at the Indian River Colony Club in Melbourne. Those honored with a scholarships included  Marissa Ricks (University of Florida); Kathryn Hibbard (Florida State University); Justin Schverak (University of Florida); Lucia Rabolli (University of Southern California); Daniel Weaver (Christopher Newport University; Ava Franco (University of Central Florida); Emma Grandt (University of Florida); Amanda Fentress (University of Florida); and Dylan Quiroga (The Citadel). Also piture above are former MOAACC Presidents Gary Eppler and Wayne Justice.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Military Officers Association of America, Cape Canaveral Chapter, recently held its 41st Annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon at the Indian River Colony Club in Melbourne.

Those honored with a scholarships included  Marissa Ricks (University of Florida); Kathryn Hibbard (Florida State University); Justin Schverak (University of Florida); Lucia Rabolli (University of Southern California); Daniel Weaver (Christopher Newport University; Ava Franco (University of Central Florida); Emma Grandt (University of Florida); Amanda Fentress (University of Florida); and Dylan Quiroga (The Citadel).

This year 11 recipients, all college juniors, seniors and graduate students, as well as descendants of area military veterans, were selected to receive a $7,000 scholarship, for a total of $77,000 in awards.

The MOAACC Scholarship Corporation was established in 1984 as a 501(c) 3 corporation, beginning with a single $1,000 award. To date, 316 students have received awards with a total dollar value of $987,000, which has been entirely funded through the generous contributions of Chapter members over the years.

The Named Donor for this year’s award luncheon is Sam Ginsburg and the Distinguished Donor are Bill and Betsy Cook, Robert J. Winglass, Roger and Lynn Wilf, Jean and Charles Baldwin and Diane Monahan.
