Vertical Aviation International’s Jim Viola Guest Speaker at Military Officers Association of America, Cape Canaveral Event

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The August Military Officers Association of America, Cape Canaveral luncheon guest speaker was Jim Viola, the President and CEO of Vertical Aviation International, which was started 75 years ago in Anaheim, CA.
As the President of Vertical Aviation International, Viola leads a global organization that represents and supports the interests of the helicopter and other vertical aviation industry members. With more than 35 years of aviation experience, he is an Airline Transport Pilot and a Certified Flight Instructor for helicopters and airplanes.
In his presentation, Viola discussed the vision, purpose, and values of the VAI including a video of various types of helicopters. He also discussed the usefulness of helicopters in lifesaving medical emergencies, and raised the issue of noise and described how he and other VAI members are working to reduce it especially when flying over national parks.
Since 1958, Military Officers Association of America, Cape Canaveral has been active in Brevard County and is a service/social group of active, former, and retired Military Officers, as well as their spouses and surviving spouses.
MOAACC is dedicated to supporting the goals of MOAA National, engages in philanthropy in the community, and promotes camaraderie of our members with social activities and events. As an affiliate of MOAA National, MOAACC is dedicated to maintaining a strong national defense and preserving the commitments and benefits for all active military, veterans and their family members.
The Military Officers Association of America, Cape Canaveral is a service/social organization dedicated to maintaining a strong national defense and preserving the entitlements and benefits of its members. Firstly, it promotes the aims, objectives and national legislative programs of MOAA.
High priority is given to providing useful services to our members and to the favorable resolution of issues that affect active duty and retired members of the seven uniformed services and their Reserve and National Guard components.
