As the Sheriff of Brevard County, I’ve worked through many hurricane seasons, and I can say without hesitation that Senator Rick Scott has been a vital partner in keeping our communities safe.

His commitment to storm preparedness and disaster recovery is unmatched, and it’s clear that he deeply understands what it takes to protect our people when hurricanes strike. During the worst of times, our communities have consistently been uplifted by the sight of Rick and his Navy ballcap coming to serve on the ground with those in need.

When Hurricane Matthew hit our state, then-Governor Scott worked closely with local law enforcement and emergency management to ensure we had the resources to respond.

He’s always been proactive, securing federal funds to strengthen our infrastructure before storms hit and making sure our law enforcement agencies are equipped with the tools we need.

Whether it’s providing additional National Guard support or expediting fuel supplies to keep our emergency vehicles running, Senator Scott consistently delivers.

What stands out most is his dedication to long-term recovery. After the winds die down, the waters recede, and the media coverage dies down, the real work begins.

Senator Scott has consistently advocated for federal disaster aid to rebuild homes, repair infrastructure, and get our economy back on track. His hands-on approach, from visiting impacted areas to securing the necessary federal support, has been a lifeline for our communities.

Rick Scott’s leadership in the face of hurricanes has not only made us safer but also more resilient. His commitment to preparedness and recovery ensures that when storms come, Florida is ready to weather the storm and emerge stronger on the other side. Thank you, Senator Scott.
