Florida Tech Panthers Women’s Soccer Lands Six on the CSC Academic All-District Team

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Six members of the Florida Tech women’s soccer team earned a spot on the College Sports Communications Academic All-District team when the organization announced its selections on Tuesday.
Daniela Tobon, Kaitlin Sinkler, Ximena Jauregui, Sara Batchadji, Savannah Oxley, and Lydia Carroll represent the Panthers on the CSC Academic All-District team.
The 2024 Academic All-DistricT Women’s Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top scholar-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
Tobon, a graduate student, is earning her master’s degree in Conservation Technology and is holding a perfect 4.00 grade point average. This is the second time that Tobon has earned Academic All-District status in her career. Named the SSC Defensive Player of the Year, on the field Tobon has totaled nine points on five assists and two goals.
Sinkler lands on the Academic All-District team for the first time in her career. A junior studying Biomedical Science, Sinkler is holding a cumulative 3.69 grade point average. The SSC Goalkeeper of the Year has logged nearly 1600 minutes in the net and has recorded 25 saves for a 0.694 goals against average.
Jauregui, a graduate student earning her MBA has a cumulative GPA of 3.75. On the field, the First Team All-SSC honoree has bolstered Tech’s offense to the tune of 14 points on six goals and two assists.
Batchadji, a sophomore studying Physics with a Premedical track, holds a 4.00 cumulative grade point average. On the field, the First Team All-SSC honoree has logged over 1300 minutes, totaling seven points on three goals and one assist.
Oxley, a junior earning her degree in Business and Environmental Studies, holds a cumulative GPA of 3.70. This is the second consecutive year that Oxley has earned Academic All-District honors. On the field, the captain has totaled over 1400 minutes in 17 games, with seven points on two goals and three assits.
Carroll, a senior, is earning her degree in Business Administration and is holding a 3.90 cumulative grade point average. On the field, the defender has started all 18 matches for the Panthers, totaling over 1600 minutes on the pitch, and has chipped in one assist.
Florida Tech has qualified for it’s ninth NCAA Tournament as the No. 2 seed in the South Region and earned a bye to the Second Round.
The Panthers will face the winner of the First Round matchup between third-seeded Montevallo and sixth-seeded Embry-Riddle. The Second Round matchup is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 24. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Rick Stottler Field in Melbourne.
