James Madison Memorial Fellowship awarded annually to outstanding school teachers of American history

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Public Schools’ Bryan “Keith” Vincent of Viera High School has been named the 2025 recipient of the esteemed James Madison Memorial Fellowship — the only educator in Florida to earn this distinction this year.
The James Madison Memorial Fellowship is awarded annually to outstanding secondary school teachers of American history, government, or civics who demonstrate a deep commitment to constitutional education.
The fellowship provides up to $24,000 to support graduate study focused on the U.S. Constitution and an intensive summer institute in Washington, D.C., designed to enhance fellows’ understanding of the foundation of American democracy.
Vincent’s selection places him among an elite group of educators nationwide. Since the program’s inception in 1992, only three teachers from Brevard Public Schools have received this honor, including Charly Green of Titusville, Jen Jolley of the Educational Services Facility, and now Bryan “Keith” Vincent of Viera High.
“This is an extraordinary recognition, not only for Mr. Vincent, but for our entire community,” said Brevard Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell.
“His passion for civic education and commitment to preparing students to become informed citizens exemplify the mission of public education at its best.”
Through the fellowship, Vincent will pursue a master’s degree that deepens his expertise in the principles and history of the U.S. Constitution. This opportunity will further enrich his classroom instruction and inspire students across Brevard County to engage with the fundamental ideas that shape our nation.
