BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach’s John Cielukowski, a founding member and former resident artist and board member of the Studios, along with longtime resident and friend of the Studios Michael Moffett, will showcase a selection of their works at the Studios from January 3 to February 2, 2025.

Cielukowski received his BA in Fine Arts from Montclair University in New Jersey. He also studied at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) and The Art Students League in New York City.

In addition to his involvement with the Studios, Cielukowski was a member of the Central Brevard Art Association for 15 years and served as one of their Art in Public Places program directors. He is currently a member of the Brevard Cultural Alliance (BCA).

Regarding his work, Cielukowski said, “I am working both en plein air and in the studio, focusing on architectural and industrial structures and their relationship to the surrounding environment. I am also exploring the simplification of these images into borderline abstraction.”

Moffett is an American shock artist and realistic sculptor raised in New York City and Sarasota, Florida.

In 1969, Moffett served as a Marine Corps radio operator along the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Vietnam, and those combat experiences continue to influence much of his work.

His sculptures and paintings often feature strong social commentary, including satirical advertising slogans.

Moffett attended the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota and Palomar College in California, where he majored in Fine Arts.

Around 1979, Moffett began casting with polyester resins, epoxies, and silicone rubber. From 2018 to 2022, he taught sculpture at the Maitland Art Center in Maitland, Florida.

You are invited to the reception for their exhibit, which will be held on Friday, January 10, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
