Community Gathers to Honor First Responders at Hero Fest, Free Event Set for May 4

The spirit of community and gratitude will be on full display at the 6th Annual First Responder Appreciation Day, better known as Hero Fest, set to take place on May 4 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Center located at 400 S Sykes Creek Parkway.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA — The spirit of community and gratitude will be on full display at the 6th Annual First Responder Appreciation Day, better known as Hero Fest, set to take place on May 4 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Center located at 400 S Sykes Creek Parkway.

Organized to celebrate and thank Brevard County’s first responders, Hero Fest promises a fun-filled day packed with activities for all ages. This free event offers residents a chance to connect with the heroes who serve and protect the community every day.

Visitors can enjoy a BBQ lunch, jam out to music from DJ Tony Signorino, and capture memories at the free photobooth. Interactive demonstrations will include the BCSO adoption unit, a dramatic Jaws of Life demonstration, and an exciting K9 demo. Families will also love the petting zoo, face painting, and carnival games.

Special appearances will include Sheriff Ivey and Chief Voltaire, as well as a performance by Le Troupe from Cirque Athletics. Animal lovers will be thrilled by Safari Todd’s reptile show, promising plenty of wild and educational fun.

Hero Fest is made possible by generous sponsors including the Veterans Memorial Center, Black’s Lawn Care and Landscape, and Miller & Hurt Wealth Advisors.

This event is open to the public and admission is free, offering everyone in the community a chance to come together, learn, celebrate, and say “thank you” to Brevard County’s first responders.
