BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – With less than two months to go, the 2025 ‘Dancing for the Space Coast’ dancers are working on dance routines with their dance instructors for the charity event on Saturday, May 31, at Florida Tech’s Clemente Center.
The 2025 edition of Brevard County’s biggest social and philanthropic event of the year will showcase featured dancers Anita Carbone, Gabriel Etienne, Megan McGivney, Tina Robbins, Gaston Robin, Scott Sanders, Danielle Urban, and Veronica Weiss.
With a sold-out crowd ready to pack inside the Clemente Center this year, one of the dancers in this year’s event is Meg McGivney, who has been a teacher for 19 years, and her current tenure is as the orchestra and choir director at Rockledge High School.
Before moving back to her native home of Titusville, she worked in Chicago, building an inner-city orchestra program at Chicago Bulls College Prep.
Outside of the music classroom, she serves as the varsity tennis coach at Rockledge High School and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy at Florida State University. She joined the BSYO this season as the conductor of the string orchestra.

When she’s not coaching tennis or doing music-related things, she spends time with her 8-year-old son, Llewyn.
BRAGGING RIGHTS ON THE LINE
Each celebrity dancer will be matched up with a professional dancer as they compete in a ballroom dance – and for bragging rights as the best dancer in Brevard.
On the evening of the competition, each dance pair will compete in a choreographed ballroom dance that a panel of judges will score. During the show, couples will earn scores based on several technical skill factors, but the judges’ scores alone don’t decide the dancer’s final score.
Leading up to the actual performance, the dancers will have already scored 60 percent of their points through their fundraising endeavors to benefit needy charities.
