40-Year-Old Palm Bay Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on S. Harbor City Blvd. in Melbourne

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police traffic homicide investigators were on the scene of a fatal crash at approximately 11:24 a.m. at the 700 block of S. Harbor City Boulevard that involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.
“The initial reports advised that the driver of the motorcycle was unresponsive beneath the vehicle,” said a Melbourne police spokesperson.
According to the Melbourne Police Department, Brevard County Fire Rescue attempted life-saving measures. The motorcycle driver, Joshua Risby Garcia, 40, of Palm Bay, was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The initial investigation revealed the motorcycle was riding north on S. Harbor City Blvd.
“Video obtained showed the passenger vehicle was making a left turn out of the parking lot at 709 S. Harbor City Blvd. and pulled in front of the motorcycle, causing it to strike the driver’s side of the vehicle,” said a Melbourne police spokesperson.
“A second motorcycle was a short distance behind the first motorcycle. It attempted to avoid the passenger vehicle but ultimately struck it in the front.”
The occupants of the passenger vehicle were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
