ALERT! Detectives Seeking Woman in Serial Wallet and Purse Thefts Across Brevard County

Law enforcement officials are urging the public to remain alert when dining out

BREVARD COUNTY • INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH, FLORIDA – Brevard law enforcement officials are seeking a serial purse and wallet snatcher who has been operating in Space Coast restaurants.

Indian Harbour Beach police detectives are working two active cases involving stolen wallets, credit cards, and identification.

The Palm Bay Police Department, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, and the Melbourne Police Department have also reported similar incidents with matching suspect descriptions, and detectives believe one woman is responsible for all the thefts.

Surveillance video footage shows the suspect using a jacket to conceal her arm while reaching into the victims’ purses. Detectives say the suspect typically leaves within five minutes and is later seen making fraudulent purchases with the stolen cards.

Arrest warrants have been issued for the suspect, who is also wanted in Alachua County and the City of Sebastian for related crimes.

Law enforcement officials are urging the public to remain alert when dining out and to contact 911 immediately if suspicious activity is observed.

“It’s very important that this particular individual gets stopped, but also that these types of crimes get stopped,” said Detective Corporal Jim Adams of Indian Harbour Beach Police.
