Melbourne Issues Precautionary Boil Water Notice for Jones, Sand Lake and Lake Washington Roads

Notice Applies to Jones Road, Sand Lake Road, Hidden Hammock Lane, and Lake Washington Road

Water has been shut off to Melbourne water customers on June 20. Once water service is restored, a precautionary boil water notice has been issued.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Water has been shut off to Melbourne water customers on June 20. Once water service is restored, a precautionary boil water notice has been issued.

This notice concerns the following addresses:

● Jones Road, numbers 1717 and 1817
● Sand Lake Road, numbers 5500 – 5560
● Hidden Hammock Lane, number 2300
● Lake Washington Road, numbers 5685 and 5728

The City of Melbourne advises that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes, be boiled.

A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

This precautionary boil water notice is expected to remain in effect until the required bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. Customers will be provided with a notification from the city at that time.
