BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The City of Melbourne has announced that the precautionary boil water notice issued on December 23 for certain water customers has been officially rescinded. The notice affected residents and businesses located along Pelican Drive from 140 through 440 and at 150 Ocean Boulevard.

City officials said the advisory was lifted after crews completed repairs to a water main in the area and subsequent bacteriological testing confirmed that the water supply is safe for consumption. The satisfactory survey results allowed the city to restore normal water use for the affected customers.

Residents in the impacted areas may now resume using tap water for drinking, cooking, and other household needs without boiling.

City representatives encouraged anyone with questions or concerns to contact the Public Works and Utilities Administration office at 321-608-5000. After hours, residents may call the city’s emergency number at 321-255-4622 for assistance.

Officials thank customers for their patience and cooperation while the repairs and testing were completed.
