BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA — Several puppies that the Brevard County SPCA has rehabilitated have received a clean bill of health and are ready for adoption.

Earlier this month, six litters of 27 puppies and one canine mother at the Brevard SPCA tested positive for Parvovirus.

Canine parvovirus, also known as Parvo, is a highly contagious and often fatal virus that primarily affects dogs, particularly puppies.

It attacks the gastrointestinal system, causing symptoms like severe vomiting, bloody diarrhea, lethargy, loss of appetite, and dehydration.

It spreads through contact with infected feces or contaminated surfaces and can survive in the environment for months. Without treatment, it can be fatal. Prompt veterinary care and vaccination are crucial for preventing and surviving diseases.

All positive canines received the Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody, a treatment that stops the parvovirus from entering and destroying the cells of the dog.

A few puppies required extra supportive care and TLC, but all of them have made a full recovery. Many are now available for adoption. These tough little nuggets beat the odds and are now looking for loving homes where they can grow up happy, healthy, and very spoiled.

These mixed-breed cuties are about 3 months old. While the SPCA does not have specific breed info, they can confirm they’re 100% good boys and girls.

Adoption fee for these pups is $250, which includes:
● Spay/neutered
● Up to date on vaccines
● Microchipped
