BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – After 50 years of providing safety, healing, and hope to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, homelessness, and trauma, the Women’s Center of Brevard is now calling on the community for urgent support.
The Women’s Center of Brevard has served the community since 1975, providing crisis intervention, counseling, housing, advocacy, and education to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
With offices across Brevard County, the Center is a lifeline for thousands each year.
The organization’s Melbourne/South County program office, located on Aurora Road, which was already undergoing costly repairs due to major plumbing and electrical failures, was recently broken into and vandalized.
The damage is extensive as offices were ransacked, vital equipment was destroyed, property was stolen, and the facility was left in ruin.

After decades of helping victims, we have become victims, and we are heartbroken.
The nonprofit is now facing overwhelming costs to clean up, repair, and restore the site — costs that were never in their already strained budget. Despite the setback, the Women’s Center continues to provide life-saving services to clients across the county.
The organization has launched an emergency fundraising effort to recover from the damage. Donations will go directly toward emergency repairs, replacing stolen or damaged equipment, and restoring a safe, functional space for clients and staff.
