Ten Eastern Florida State College Athletics Programs Named NJCAA Academic Teams of Year

55 EFSC athletes were named to the NJCAA All-Academic teams

BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA — For the second straight season, 10 Eastern Florida State College athletics teams were named 2024-25 NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year.

The women’s golf team was recognized for the second straight season and finished with a 3.65 team GPA as Cayden Challacombe, Brittany Odic, Emma Parker and Mila Tang were named to the second team while Jenna Barnett made the third team.

The women’s golf team finished eighth overall in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.

The baseball team made the list for the second straight season with a 3.50 GPA, as pitcher Kenneth Robinson made the first team with a 4.0 GPA. Bryce Carter, Owen Simmons, and Bo Tabola made the second team, while Ashton Fernandez, Jacob Goodman, Parker Towbridge, and Houston Wills made the third team.

Also being recognized for the second consecutive season were the men’s soccer team, which achieved a 3.31 GPA and advanced to the semifinals of the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. Luc Achermann-Stanfield, who was a third-team NJCAA All-American, made the second team along with Daiki Okada. Mateo Galan, Randie Hernandez, Angelo Lamb, Aidan McAteer, and Louis Munn were selected for the third team.

Additionally, the men’s tennis team, the women’s tennis team, and the men’s golf team have qualified for the NJCAA Division I National Tournament and have been named to the All-Academic team.

The men’s tennis team finished with a 3.35 GPA and finished sixth in the national tournament this season. Tomas Cardozo and Konstantin Kukaras were named to the third team.

The women’s tennis team finished with a 3.29 GPA after placing fifth in the national tournament. Sara Ladino and Laura Yans were named to the third team.

The men’s golf team had a 3.06 team GPA and was 19th overall in the national tournament. Andrew Bell made the second team.

The women’s basketball team was honored for the second straight season with a 3.47 GPA this season, as Amanda Baumgarte made the second team, while E’Zaria Adams, Ashleigh Battle, and Karen Nimo are on the third team.

The men’s basketball team was once again among the top teams in the nation with a 3.09 GPA. Nate King was named to the second team, and Ernests Locmelis was named to the third team.

The softball team was recognized for achieving a 3.46 team GPA, with outfielder Martha Jones being named to the first team, boasting a 4.0 GPA. Jessica Camacho, Ashley Grieser, Cora Middleton, Luci Walters, Avery Velazquez, and Madison Velazquez were all named to the third team.

The women’s volleyball team was named for the second straight season with a 3.06 GPA, as both Libby Ashline and Mariana Lopes made the first team with a 4.0 GPA. Teammates Camila Canedo, Sarah Henault, and Sophia Iglesias made the second team, and Dominae Jordan and Hailey Mull were named to the third team.

Overall, 55 Eastern Florida State College student-athletes were named to the NJCAA All-Academic teams.
