BREAKING: One Dead in House Fire in Palm Bay on Furth Road NW, State Fire Marshal’s Office Investigating

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Fire Rescue received multiple calls reporting a house fire on Furth Road NW on Tuesday afternoon at about 2 p.m., in which one person died in the blaze.
According to Palm Bay Fire Rescue Assistant Chief John Ringleb, just after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, fire crews responded immediately and arrived to find a single-story home with heavy fire involvement in one of the bedrooms.
“Occupants of the home reported that an individual was still inside,” said Assistant Chief Ringleb.
“Firefighters initiated a rapid search through the rear of the house closest to the fire while attack crews coordinated their tasks for fire control. During the search, crews located one deceased person, along with a dog and a cat, who also did not survive. All other occupants were able to exit the home without injury.”
Palm Bay Fire Rescue was assisted on scene by the Palm Bay Police Department and Brevard County Fire Rescue.
Following the incident, Palm Bay Fire Rescue activated its Peer Support Team to assist responders and family members. The department’s Chaplain Team, along with the American Red Cross, also responded to support those affected.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is working in coordination with the Palm Bay Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit to determine the origin and circumstances of the incident.
“Palm Bay Fire Rescue extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones impacted by this tragic loss,” said Assistant Chief Ringleb.
