BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — The West Melbourne Police Department has issued a traffic advisory for the intersection of US-192 and the east exit of Sam’s Club, following a series of crashes in the area.

The Florida Department of Transportation is currently evaluating the intersection to determine possible long-term safety improvements.

As a temporary safety measure, Sam’s Club and the West Melbourne Police Department have designated the exit as a right turn only. Two posted traffic signs are in place to guide drivers.

Authorities are reminding motorists that disregarding the signs is a violation of Florida Statute 316.074(1), which requires compliance with traffic control devices. Violations may result in a $169 fine and the addition of three points to the driver’s license.

Officials emphasize that the restriction is intended to reduce collision risks and improve traffic flow.

Motorists are urged to follow the posted instructions to help maintain safety in the busy commercial area.
