Several Melbourne Neighborhoods Under Precautionary Boil Water Notice Due to Water Main Repairs

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Several Melbourne neighborhoods are under a precautionary boil water notice from the City of Melbourne following water service disruptions caused by repairs.
According to the City of Melbourne, water shutoffs were required in the following areas:
● Winchester Road: 439 – 479
● Pepperwood Road (ML): 2311 – 2435
● Tallpine Road (ML): 1851 – 2031
● Talloak Road (ML): 1870 – 2011
● Golfwood Road (ML): 2316 – 2448
● Tallridge Road (ML): 1860 – 2011
● Tallpalm Road (ML): 1870 – 2011
● Devonshire Drive: 103 and 105
● Greenway Drive: 2208
The work included repairs to both a hydrant valve and water main lines in the area.
As a precaution, once service is restored, residents at the affected addresses are advised to boil all water intended for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes.
Officials explained that water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute. Bottled water may be used as an alternative.
The advisory will remain in effect until bacteriological testing confirms the water supply is safe to drink. A notification will be issued once the precaution is lifted.
