BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The American Red Cross of North and Central Florida has opened an emergency shelter in Brevard County to assist residents displaced by widespread flooding in Titusville, Cocoa, and surrounding communities.
The shelter, operated in partnership with the City of Titusville, is located at First United Methodist Church of Titusville, 206 S. Hopkins Ave.
It provides a safe place for affected residents, offering cots, blankets, meals, and essential personal care and health items. All Red Cross services are free and available to anyone in need.
“After last night’s storms and today’s continued rain, we are working closely with local government agencies and faith-based organizations to address the needs of residents in our community,” said Janice Moran, executive director of the American Red Cross Central Florida Coast. “We are committed to helping Brevard County and providing services for the families impacted.”
Heavy rain over the past 24 hours has led to flash flooding across portions of northern Brevard County, prompting road closures and rescue operations in low-lying areas. Local officials continue to urge residents to avoid flooded roadways and follow safety guidance from emergency management.
