FHP Troopers Seek Hit-and-Run Driver and Vehicle Responsible for Death of Motorcyclist

A 61-year-old Melbourne man was killed late Sunday night in a hit-and-run crash on U.S. Highway 1, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. FHP has asked anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has information about the fleeing vehicle to come forward.

BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA — A 61-year-old Melbourne man was killed late Sunday night in a hit-and-run crash on U.S. Highway 1, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the collision happened around 10:50 p.m. near Orbiter Court, when an unidentified vehicle struck the back of a 2025 Jiang Zhon motorcycle traveling south on the highway.

The impact threw the rider from the motorcycle onto the roadway.

The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop and continued southbound, investigators said.

Emergency responders transported the injured motorcyclist to Parrish Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Troopers noted that the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Authorities are still working to identify the vehicle and driver responsible. FHP has asked anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has information about the fleeing vehicle to come forward.

The investigation into the deadly hit-and-run remains ongoing.
