The United Soccer League, in partnership with Space Coast Pro Soccer’s Adrian Health, John Bonner and Tommy Bonner, announced its intent to bring professional men’s soccer to the region, with plans to launch a women’s team in the future.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Space Coast could soon be home to its own professional soccer team.

The United Soccer League (USL), in partnership with Space Coast Pro Soccer, announced its intent to bring professional men’s soccer to the region, with plans to launch a women’s team in the future.

The project includes developing a state-of-the-art, soccer-specific stadium that will serve as both the club’s home venue and a community hub for events and youth programs.

Space Coast Pro Soccer leaders said they are exploring potential sites throughout Brevard County to create a premier matchday experience for fans.

“We’re thrilled to expand USL’s presence to Florida’s Space Coast,” said Justin Papadakis, USL Deputy CEO and Chief Real Estate Officer.

“Brevard County is a thriving soccer community that’s ready to embrace a professional club of its own. The Space Coast Pro Soccer team is driven by a deep passion for growing the game and building a club that’s rooted in community.”

The new venture is led by a team with deep experience in soccer, business, and real estate.

John Bonner, a veteran venture capitalist who co-founded Orlando City Soccer Club in 2010 alongside Phil Rawlins, helped guide that franchise from the USL to Major League Soccer in 2015.

His son, Tommy Bonner, brings a background in commercial and residential real estate and early-stage tech investments. Both are lifelong supporters of Nottingham Forest in England.

Also joining the leadership team is Adrian Heath, a former Premier League striker and championship-winning coach. Heath guided Orlando City SC through its early USL success and most recently coached Minnesota United FC in MLS.

“The Space Coast Pro Soccer Club is a long-term commitment to Brevard County and its future,” said John Bonner.

“We are building a community gathering place that will deliver thrilling, professional soccer and inspire immense civic pride. This club is designed to unite our growing region, boost local prosperity, and provide the highest level of sport for every resident to rally around.”

The organization plans to engage the public in developing the team’s name, colors, and crest—branding that will reflect the character and spirit of Florida’s east coast.

Space Coast Pro Soccer is currently seeking investors, corporate partners, and community collaborators to help shape the club’s launch.
