BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The most beautiful music of the year will be heard in two Friday evening performances by the Indialantic Chamber Singers, when the mixed-voice ensemble of auditioned singers presents, Christmas Celebration.

The first concert of holiday favorites will be performed on Friday, December 5 at 7 p.m., at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 300 Malabar Road SE in Palm Bay.

The 30-member singing group will reprise the performance the following week on Friday, December 12 at 7 p.m. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, located at the base of the Melbourne Causeway at 106 N. Riverside Drive in Indialantic.

As the program name suggests, the concert will be a true celebration of the season, with beloved Christmas pieces both sacred and secular. The audience can expect to hear ‘The Little Drummer Boy,’ along with ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’ and the beloved carol, ‘Silent Night.’

Also on the program are ‘It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,’ ‘Carol of the Bells’ and ‘The Christmas Song’– written by Mel Torme and made famous by Nat King Cole. Sopranos and altos will perform the a cappella ‘Angelus ad Pastores Ait,’ with Latin text from the Gospel of Luke, while ringing chimes accompany the singers for ‘A Christmas Antiphonal.’ Founder and Conductor Emeritus, David Vogeding will take to the keyboard for ‘Good King Wenceslas,’ ‘Sussex Carol’ and ‘The First Noel’ and children of all ages will love, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.’

The audience will have a chance to join in the festive music, by participating in a sing-along. Artistic Director Beth Green will conduct the group, with piano accompaniment by Teresa Fleenor.

The Palm Bay concert will be followed by a free, on-site reception. Christmas Celebration is free of charge, with a suggested donation of $15. The organization is supported entirely by patron donations.
