Titans Roll to 10th Win of Season With 99-77 Win in Eastern Florida Classic Action

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team wrapped up the Eastern Florida Classic with a victory over East Georgia State College on Tuesday.

The Titans eclipsed the 90-point mark for the seventh time this season in a 99-77 victory to go 2-0 in the tournament. Florida Southwestern won the first game 78-59 against Gordon State to go 2-0 as well.

Eastern Florida State College got things going as Nick Oliver and Sean Register Jr. each hit 3-pointers to give the Titans a 14-9 lead. The lead was six with 5:20 left in the first half when the Titans went on a 9-1 run. Then Oliver hit his third 3-pointer of the first half and the lead reached 15. The Titans went to halftime leading by 18 points.

Oliver hit another 3-pointer early in the second half as the lead hit 22 points, 54-32 with 16:50 remaining. A Joviel Acevedo-Arroyo basket gave the Titans a 90-60 lead but a run by East Georgia State cut the lead to 22 at the end.

Register Jr. once again led the attack with 25 points while Eby Ogoh recorded his third double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Jevon Yapi had a season-high 19 points in the game while Oliver and Lana Agbelese each had 12 points in the win.

In the first game, Florida Southwestern broke open a tight game, scoring the final 20 points of the first half. Trey Fogle hit five straight 3-pointers during the run as the Bucs went into halftime up 22.

They went on to cruise to a 78-59 win as Amont’e Allen-Johnson and Mason Blazer each had 16 points while Fogle finished with 15 for the Bucs who improved to 10-4.

Eastern Florida State College will head to the break 10-3 on the season. The Titans will host Advance Prep on Dec. 30 at 3 p.m. at Titan Field House.
