A 29-year-old Cocoa man died early Thursday morning after a hit-and-run crash along I-95 in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – A 29-year-old Cocoa man died early Thursday morning after a hit-and-run crash along I-95 in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred on northbound I-95 near the State Road 528 interchange in Cocoa.

State troopers say the preliminary findings indicate a vehicle traveling northbound struck a pedestrian for reasons that remain under investigation.

The driver fled the scene following the collision.

The pedestrian, identified as a 29-year-old man from Cocoa, was pronounced dead at the scene.

All northbound lanes of I-95 in the area were temporarily shut down as authorities investigated and cleared the roadway.

Traffic was restored several hours later.

Authorities are looking for the driver of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run

Debris found at the crash scene suggest the vehicle is a possible a red semi-truck, according to FHP.
