Business, Civic and Military Leaders Set for MAC Meeting in Merritt Island

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA — Business, military, and civic leaders from across Florida’s Space Coast are preparing to converge at an important regional discussion on Wednesday, February 18, when the Military Affairs Council (MAC) holds its monthly meeting at Urban Defense, 3700 N. Courtenay Parkway #110, in Merritt Island.
The meeting, scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., is expected to draw members and supporters of MAC’s mission to forge closer partnerships between the military community and the local business sector, with updates and strategic insights on priorities affecting Brevard’s veteran and active-duty communities.

Organized through Ascend Brevard, Inc., the Military Affairs Council is an all-volunteer body composed of Chamber investors — military and civilian alike — who work throughout the year to enhance the quality of life and economic opportunity for service members, veterans, and their families in Brevard County.
New Leadership & Key Updates
The February meeting will be the first under the leadership of the newly appointed MAC Chairman, Brigadier General (Retired) Eric Froehlich, United States Air Force, who will be welcomed by attendees.
In his role, Froehlich will provide leadership as the council continues its efforts to connect regional business leaders with the military community. This meeting will also include updates from local military leadership and summaries of ongoing and future MAC initiatives.
One of the key objectives of these monthly gatherings is to highlight issues and opportunities that are directly relevant to those who serve and those who support them. Attendees will have the opportunity to network, hear from military leadership on current priorities, and collaborate with civic partners on shared efforts to support service members, military families, and veterans across the Space Coast.

Community & Sponsor Support
The February meeting benefits from the continuing support of the council’s Annual Sponsor, Upper Mohawk, Inc., a certified woman-owned small business headquartered in Titusville that provides technical and management support services across government and commercial sectors, including projects supporting military readiness and workforce development.
Organizers underscore that whether attendees are longtime MAC members or newcomers interested in supporting the military community, their voices and participation are vital to advancing regional partnership goals.

Broader Military & Community Context
The meeting comes at a time of ongoing community engagement throughout Brevard County in support of veterans and military families. Nearby initiatives — such as the ongoing development of the Brevard Veterans Memorial Park and amphitheatre in Merritt Island — demonstrate the region’s continued investment in both honoring service and creating civic spaces for community connection.
Community stakeholders and the public are encouraged to register in advance for the February 18 meeting and to share the event information with others who may be interested in attending and supporting the Military Affairs Council’s mission.
