Cocoa Beach Police Detectives Charged Ray Torralbes With Exposing Himself to 7-Year-Old Child on the Beach

Charged with Lewd and Lascivious Exhibition Involving a Victim Under 16, a second-degree felony

According to police, Ray Torralbes fled the area after the incident, running westbound across North Atlantic Avenue while being pursued by the child’s father and a bystander.
BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA — A 69-year-old Pennsylvania man, Ray Torralbes, was arrested Monday after Cocoa Beach police say he exposed himself to a 7-year-old child on the beach in Cocoa Beach.
According to the Cocoa Beach Police Department, officers responded at approximately 11:23 a.m. on March 9 to the area of 1600 North Atlantic Avenue following a report that an older male had allegedly committed a lewd act in front of a child.
“Responding Cocoa Beach police officers and detectives quickly canvassed the surrounding area and located a male matching the suspect’s description walking on the sidewalk along Jamaica Drive,” said Cocoa Beach Police Detective Sergeant Taylor Payne.
According to investigators, Torralbes fled the area after the incident, running westbound across North Atlantic Avenue while being pursued by the child’s father and a bystander who attempted to stop him..
The suspect was detained and initially provided officers with a false name. Through further investigation, officers determined the suspect’s identity to be Ray Torralbes, 69, of Pennsylvania.

Responding officers and detectives quickly began searching the surrounding area. A short time later, they located a man matching the suspect’s description walking along the sidewalk on Jamaica Drive, police said.
Torralbes was detained and initially gave officers a false name, according to investigators.
After conducting additional interviews and reviewing evidence, detectives established probable cause to arrest Torralbes on Lewd and Lascivious Exhibition Involving a Victim Under 16, a second-degree felony, and Providing False Identification to Law Enforcement, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Torralbes was transported to the Brevard County Jail, where he was booked on a $10,500 bond.
