BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – This past week Agents from our Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant at the home of Brandon Cobb for possession of child pornography.
The investigation began when Agents received cyber tips from our great partners at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding someone at that particular residence viewing child sexual abuse material on the internet.
Through various investigative means, 21 year old Brandon Cobb was subsequently identified as the suspect.
During an interview with Cobb, he admitted to viewing the child pornography on his phone, along with exchanging images and videos with other individuals on the Telegram and Signal apps.
Agents collected the device for further examination by our Digital Forensics Unit where they anticipate finding significantly more images and videos of child pornography.
Cobb was ultimately arrested and charged with 10 counts of Possession of Material Depicting Sexual Performance of a Child and was taken to the Brevard County Jail on a $350,000 bond.
The investigation is on going with more charges forthcoming as additional images and videos are discovered by our forensics team.
Sadly, the internet has become an opportunity for bad people with evil in their heart to prey upon our children, so parents please make sure to keep a close eye on your children’s on-line activities and who they are talking to through various apps and platforms.
Stay involved, stay connected to your kids and what they are doing on the internet, so we can all work together to keep them safe.
