BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — A new era of emergency service has begun for residents of the Barefoot Bay and Micco communities as Station 86 and Engine 86 officially entered service this week with Brevard County Fire Rescue.

To celebrate the milestone, firefighters welcomed residents to an open house where community members could tour the brand-new fire station, meet the firefighters who will serve the area, and see the department’s newest fire engine up close.

The event brought together families, neighbors, and local leaders from the Barefoot Bay and Micco communities, highlighting the importance of the new facility in improving emergency response and public safety in southern Brevard County.

The newly constructed station was built to support the growing population and increasing demand for emergency services in the region.

The facility will house Engine 86, along with firefighters and emergency personnel who will respond to fires, medical emergencies, and other urgent incidents across the area.

Officials say the new station will help reduce response times and provide better coverage for residents along the southern end of the county.

Construction of the station was completed with the help of W+J Construction Corp., which partnered with the county to build the modern firehouse designed to meet the operational needs of today’s fire service.

With Station 86 now fully operational, Brevard County Fire Rescue leaders say the new facility represents both a commitment to public safety and an investment in the future of the Barefoot Bay and Micco communities.

Officials added that they look forward to continuing community outreach events and welcoming residents back to the station in the future.
