BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Poocharella 2026 has officially wrapped up after a lively day filled with dogs, entertainment, and community spirit at Wickham Park.

Hosted by Touch of Grey Rescue, the event brought together families, animal lovers, and rescue organizations for a celebration centered around adoption and pet awareness.

Attendees enjoyed a wide range of attractions throughout the day, including pet specialty vendors, food trucks, and live music. One of the event’s highlights was the “Best in Rescue” competition, where adoptable dogs took center stage in hopes of finding their forever homes.

The SwiftPaws lure course once again proved to be a crowd favorite, as dogs of all sizes sprinted across the field in pursuit of the fast-moving lure, drawing cheers from spectators.

“What a great turnout today for Touch of Grey’s “Poocharella” event at Wickham Park!! Saint got lots of love and I had a great time serving as a Judge to crown the 2026 Best In Rescue King, Beans a local rescue who is now doing great with his furever home,” said Sheriff Wayne Ivey, who was in attendance at the event.
“Touch of Grey is an amazing not-for-profit that rescues senior dogs and finds them great furever homes to be loved on the rest of their lives.”

Beyond the entertainment, the event served a larger purpose — connecting rescue groups with potential adopters and raising awareness about the importance of giving dogs a second chance.
