Message from Sheriff Wayne Ivey

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Another year and the initiative continues as I am always honored to stand with our partners at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard, along with members of our Criminal Investigative Services team, as we “plant” Blue and Silver Pinwheels to bring awareness to National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
April is recognized as “National Child Abuse Prevention Month,” and the pinwheel itself represents the whimsical nature of childhood, that all children deserve, but unfortunately some never get.
During this time of year, we aim to bring extra awareness and attention to the topic of Child Abuse Prevention, in hopes of helping protect as many children as possible.
Our team, alongside the members of the Children’s Advocacy Center, work tirelessly each and every day of the year to keep our most precious of citizens, our children, safe.
We are honored to have amazing partnerships with the Children’s Advocacy Center and others throughout our community who continue to dedicate their lives to protecting innocent children.
With that, I want to thank all of our team members for everything they do to help keep children in Brevard County safe.
As I always say, it takes a community to protect a community, and protecting our children is everyone’s responsibility.
