BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA — One of the largest military enlistment ceremonies in Central Florida brought together hundreds of future service members Friday evening as Brevard Public Schools hosted the 2026 Military Enlistment Ceremony of the Space Coast at Viera High School Stadium.
Approximately 250 enlistees took the oath of enlistment into the United States Armed Forces during the 5 p.m. ceremony, marking a major milestone for graduating students and community members across Brevard County. In a strong show of support, another 250 Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) students from across the district stood in formation, representing BPS programs.
The event featured several high-impact moments, including a flyover conducted by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Wayne Ivey was in attendance, underscoring the community’s support for the region’s newest service members.

Keynote remarks were delivered by Mike Haridopolos, who spoke on the significance of military service and the commitment made by those taking the oath.
Adding a unique hands-on element, the United States Air Force showcased a deconstructed jet engine, giving attendees an up-close look at military aviation technology.
