A fatal crash that shut down all northbound lanes of Interstate 95 at Wickham Road in Melbourne early Tuesday morning has been cleared, and traffic is now flowing normally.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A fatal crash that shut down all northbound lanes of Interstate 95 at Wickham Road in Melbourne early Tuesday morning has been cleared, and traffic is now flowing normally.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, troopers responded to the crash around 6 a.m. near mile marker 191 in Brevard County.
Preliminary evidence shows the crash involved a 2017 Dodge Journey and a 2015 MACK semi tractor-trailer.
The driver of the Dodge Journey, whose identity is pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
All northbound lanes were temporarily blocked as troopers investigated the crash and diverted traffic off I-95 at Wickham Road, causing significant delays for morning commuters.
The lanes have reopened.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
