Leo Alcaraz Joins Florida Tech Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff, Will Handle Panther’s Day-to-Day Operations

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech men’s basketball and Head Coach Will Murphy have announced the hiring of Leo Alcaraz to the program’s coaching staff.
Alcaraz will serve as an assistant coach for player development and handle the team’s day-to-day operations.
Leo Alcaraz on joining the Panther family, “I’m incredibly excited and grateful to join Coach Murphy and the Florida Tech Men’s Basketball program. This opportunity feels like the perfect fit for me, and I am eager to contribute to the program and community here in Melbourne. I look forward to supporting our student-athletes and helping us compete at the highest level.”
Leo comes to Florida Tech from Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he served as the program’s director of basketball operations.
In his role at FDU, Alcaraz oversaw all aspects of the team’s off-court responsibilities and assisted with daily player development.
Prior to joining FDU, Alcaraz was the head student manager at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
During his time at UCSB, the program won the Big West Conference championship and reached the NCAA Tournament in 2023.
Coach Alcaraz also brings NBA Draft experience, having worked with WME Sports as an NBA Draft Player Development Assistant for two years.
In his role, Leo oversaw on-court workouts and helped draft prospects with their mechanics at the highest level.
