Space Launch Delta 45 Hosts Patrick and Cape Family Day, Showcases Airmen and Guardians Missions

BREVARD COUNTY • PATRICK SPACE FORCE BASE, FLORIDA – Space Launch Delta 45 welcomed families across Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station last week for Patrick and Cape Family Day, held in conjunction with Brevard County’s Bring Your Kid to Work Day.
The special event gave parents the opportunity to share their daily mission with their children while offering families a firsthand look at the vital work performed by Airmen and Guardians who support national defense and space operations on Florida’s Space Coast.
Throughout the day, families participated in hands-on STEM activities designed to inspire curiosity and showcase the science and technology behind modern military and space missions.
Children and parents also enjoyed meals from local food trucks while exploring interactive exhibits across the installation.
One of the day’s biggest highlights was up-close access to operational equipment, where families were able to see aircraft, fire trucks, and police cruisers while learning more about the teams who operate them each day.
The event provided a unique behind-the-scenes experience, demonstrating how Space Launch Delta 45 personnel work together to ensure mission success, protect national security interests, and continue supporting the launch of critical payloads into orbit.
Patrick and Cape Family Day not only celebrated military families but also served as an educational opportunity for the next generation, giving children a deeper understanding of the dedication, innovation, and teamwork required to carry out the Space Force mission.
