U.S. Coast Guard Helps Rescue Boaters Taking on Water Off Cape Canaveral

BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA — A U.S. Coast Guard Station Port Canaveral boat crew assisted four people aboard a 20-foot vessel that was taking on water approximately 12 miles offshore of Cape Canaveral on Saturday.

According to the Coast Guard, the crew arrived on scene and helped dewater the vessel while escorting it safely back to shore.

With assistance from the Coast Guard, the boat returned to Sunrise Marina, where it was hauled out of the water.

No injuries were reported.

The Coast Guard is reminding mariners heading offshore to routinely inspect their vessels.
