BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA — Take Stock in Children of Brevard will recognize 41 graduating seniors, honor volunteer mentors, and announce an expanded college opportunity initiative during its annual Mentor Appreciation Luau on June 4 at the Pelican Beach Clubhouse in Satellite Beach.
Organizers will honor members of the Take Stock in Children Class of 2026, representing schools throughout Brevard County.
The graduating scholars attend a wide range of public and charter schools, including Astronaut, Bayside, Cocoa Beach, Cocoa, Eau Gallie, Heritage, Melbourne, Merritt Island, Palm Bay Magnet, Rockledge, Satellite, Titusville, and Viera high schools, as well as Brevard Virtual School, Odyssey Charter School, Space Coast Junior/Senior High School and West Shore Junior/Senior High School.
Take Stock in Children of Brevard operates through the Brevard Schools Foundation and provides students from income-eligible households with volunteer mentors, college-readiness resources, and scholarship opportunities designed to help them achieve postsecondary success.
The event, hosted by Take Stock in Children of Brevard and the Brevard Schools Foundation, will bring together students, mentors, community leaders, and supporters to celebrate academic achievement and the role that mentoring plays in preparing students for life after high school.
The annual gathering serves as both a graduation celebration and a mentor recognition event, highlighting the impact of scholarship opportunities, college readiness support, and one-on-one mentoring relationships that help students successfully transition from high school to postsecondary education.
In addition to celebrating the graduates, the program will recognize outstanding volunteer mentors through several awards categories, including Legacy Awards, Impact Awards, Most Mentor Sessions, and Rookie Mentor of the Year.
The event also marks the conclusion of the statewide Take Stock in Children program’s 30th anniversary year.
Founded in 1995, Take Stock in Children has become Florida’s flagship mentoring and scholarship initiative, serving more than 26,000 students from low-income backgrounds across the state through volunteer mentors, postsecondary scholarships, and college-readiness support.
A highlight of the evening will be a special announcement from Take Stock in Children of Brevard regarding expanded college opportunities for members of the graduating Class of 2026.
Additional details are expected to be shared during the program.
The Mentor Appreciation Luau is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at the Pelican Beach Clubhouse, located at 1495 Highway A1A in Satellite Beach.
The beachfront event will feature award presentations, group photos, and opportunities for interviews with scholars, mentors, and program leadership.
