Hosted at the Space Coast Iceplex, the tournament brought together players, volunteers, and supporters to raise awareness and celebrate the growing adaptive hockey community on Florida’s Space Coast.
BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA — Team Viera took to the ice Sunday morning to compete in the Summer Sled Challenge 3-on-3 Tournament at the Space Coast Iceplex, joining community members and adaptive athletes in support of Space Coast Sled Hockey, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making the sport of hockey accessible to individuals with physical disabilities.
Hosted at the Space Coast Iceplex, the tournament brought together players, volunteers, and supporters to raise awareness and celebrate the growing adaptive hockey community on Florida’s Space Coast.
Space Coast Sled Hockey provides athletes with physical disabilities the opportunity to experience the excitement of hockey while building confidence, teamwork, resilience, and lasting friendships.

The Viera Company, a longtime supporter of community initiatives throughout Brevard County, participated in the event as part of its ongoing commitment to giving back and supporting programs that positively impact local residents.

Bolton, a decorated sled hockey athlete who has represented the United States on the international stage, joined Team Viera on the ice and inspired participants with both his skill and passion for the sport.
Team members described the tournament as a rewarding and humbling experience, noting that competing alongside adaptive athletes and dedicated volunteers deepened their appreciation for the determination and perseverance displayed by the players every day.
Organizers say events like the Summer Sled Challenge help ensure that individuals of all abilities have the opportunity to enjoy hockey in an inclusive environment while also raising funds to support equipment, ice time, travel, and program development.
