WATCH: Brief Waterspout Spotted Over Banana River Near Port Canaveral

BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – A brief waterspout developed over the Banana River north-northwest of Port Canaveral on Saturday afternoon.

The waterspout was spotted at approximately 3:50 p.m. and was captured on video by a Port Canaveral webcam.

The weather phenomenon was short-lived, quickly dissipating over the water.

No damage or injuries were immediately reported.

Waterspouts are rotating columns of air and water mist that typically develop beneath thunderstorms over warm coastal waters.
