BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – George “Ron” James died peacefully at home on September 24, 2026, surrounded by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Chrissy and Ashley; son, Todd; and daughter-in-law, Madie. He was 77.

Born February 6, 1949, in Washington, D.C., Ron built a life centered on faith, family, and service. He and Sharon shared 46 years together, blending and raising a large family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who believed in hard work, integrity, and treating others with kindness.

Ron spent countless hours with his children at sporting events and dirt bike competitions, rebuilding cars and working alongside them in the garage. He taught them to take pride in their work and to hold fast to their faith. His daughters saw in him an example of how to love and respect a partner.

He worked for Florida Power & Light for 46 years before retiring. He later worked for Boeing, reviewing space station drawings for errors and incorrect part numbers. His family remembers his remarkable memory for numbers and details.

Ron also gave his time to children and families in Brevard County. In 2017, he took on a fundraising challenge for Friends of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard’s annual James Bond Gala. Over three weeks, he spoke with more than 300 people and traveled more than 1,500 miles seeking support. He became the first James Bond fundraiser to individually raise $50,000.

For 13 years, Ron served with The HOOD Ministry, Helping Others Overcome Despair. Each week, he helped prepare home-cooked meals for people experiencing homelessness, offering dignity and compassion along with the food.

Though quiet by nature, Ron earned the respect of those around him through his wisdom and steady presence. His family will remember the love in his eyes whenever he looked at Sharon, and the faith and generosity he brought to their lives.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, George and Francis James. He is survived by Sharon; their seven children, Ronnie, Todd, Daniel, Chrissy, Ashley, Mark and Daniel; son-in-law David; daughters-in-law Candy and Madie; and nine grandchildren, Clay, Emily, Ruby, Brooke, Kayla, Colton, Abigail, Riley and Noah. He is also survived by his brother, Ken, and Ken’s wife, Margie, as well as many nieces and nephews. Despite living hundreds of miles apart, Ron and Ken spoke every day for many years.

A viewing will be held Friday, October 2, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at North Brevard Funeral Home. A second viewing will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3, at New Life Space Coast Church, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Titusville.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Ron’s memory be made to The HOOD Ministry or Friends of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard.

As his family put it, “James Bond is now on a new mission.”
