BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Former Viera Hawks, and Vanderbilt catcher Alan Espinal, was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 11th round with the 318th overall pick of the 2024 MLB Draft.

Espinal had a career year last season after earning ABCA/Rawlings Southeast All-Region Second Team honors.

The former Viera Hawk hit 13 home runs, 49 RBIs, and 15 doubles for Vanderbilt in 2024.

He was named SEC Player of the Week in March and concluded his college career with a .279 average, 19 home runs, and, 73 RBIs.

Epsinal graduated from Viera High School in 2020.
