UCF Head Coach Gus Malzahn Resigns After Four Seasons, Will Join Florida State as Offensive Coordinator

Malzahn went 28-24 in four seasons at UCF

UCF Knights head coach Gus Malzahn has resigned on Saturday and will accept the Offensive Coordinator position at Florida State.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – UCF Knights head coach Gus Malzahn has resigned on Saturday and will accept the Offensive Coordinator position at Florida State.

UCF released the following statement.

“We would like to thank Coach Malzahn for his contributions to our football program over the past four seasons, including our transition into the Big 12 Conference. We appreciate his professionalism and dedication to our student-athletes throughout his tenure at UCF and wish he and his wife, Kristi, the very best in their future endeavors.”

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell worked with Malzahn back at Tulsa, when he was Malzahn’s graduate assistant in 2007 and 2008.

Malzahn’s four-year stint with the Knights ends at 28-24, including 5-13 in the Big 12 over the past two years.
