OBITUARY: Carl D. Coddington of Cocoa Beach Passed Away Peacefully Dec. 2

Carl fell in love with the community over 50 years ago, cherished the people and place he called home

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Carl D. Coddington Jr., born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Silver Spring, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2.

A University of Maryland, College Park graduate, Carl built a successful career with Prudential Insurance before founding Carl Coddington Insurance.

A longtime Cocoa Beach, Florida resident, Carl fell in love with the community over 50 years ago and cherished the people and place he called home.

He was the beloved son of Carl Sr. and Mary Coddington, brother to Art, Peggy, and Dee, and a devoted father to Jason, Chris, Kim, and Charlie. Known as “Papa Beach,” he was a proud and loving grandfather to Avery, Pierce, Griffin, Jada, and Peyton.

Carl shared many meaningful years with his former wife, Debbie, who remained a special part of his life.

A friend to all, Carl will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the joy he brought to those around him.
