BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA -Hey everyone! Nikki McCoy Freeman here with McCoy Freeman Compass — your Space Coast real estate experts and longtime locals who live and breathe beach life. If you’re heading out to enjoy Cocoa Beach this weekend, I’ve got your surf, weather, and some fun beach tips to make the most of your time on the coast!
FRIDAY – MAY 31
We’re kicking off with plenty of sunshine and highs around 85°. The surf’s mellow — ankle- to knee-high — so it’s a great day to break out the soft-top or longboard. Or, just kick back and enjoy the sun.
Tip of the Day: Low tide is around 8:30 AM — that’s your golden hour for biking on the beach or doing some shell hunting. And remember: Big board, big fun! On small days like this, soft-tops and longboards are your best bet for catching anything rideable.
SATURDAY – JUNE 1
Saturday brings even warmer temps, nearing 87°, and a slight bump in surf — maybe thigh-high at best. It’s still small, but there could be a few fun rides early before the wind picks up.
Weekend Tip: Mid-tide is your best bet for finding a clean little wave. And don’t forget to check the beach flag system — yellow means use caution.
Fun Idea: Rent a paddleboard, hit the volleyball courts, or grab a drink at one of Cocoa Beach’s oceanfront spots with live music. 🌴🎶
SUNDAY – JUNE 2
Sunday’s partly cloudy with temps around 86°. The surf is looking weak and choppy — maybe knee-high — so unless you’re really craving water time, it might be a better day to chill, grab brunch, or do a little shopping on Minutemen.
Real Beach Hack: Onshore wind makes waves messy. Early mornings usually bring lighter offshore winds and cleaner conditions. So if you’re surfing, go early — and if not, enjoy a peaceful walk before the crowds roll in.
No matter what the waves are doing, Cocoa Beach always delivers sunshine, salt air, and that laid-back lifestyle we all love. And if you’re dreaming about making this your everyday view, visit mccoyfreeman.com to check out the latest listings.
