Officials estimate that the full repair process will take about two months

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Brevard County Government Officials have issued a statement that the closure of Evans Road, south of Hibiscus Boulevard in Melbourne, will remain in effect until early November following a determination that a temporary fix would not be adequate.
The roadway was initially closed on August 22, but further inspection revealed that more extensive repairs are required. Officials estimate that the full repair process will take about two months.
Drivers are being asked to continue using the same detour routes that were in place during a recent construction project.
Southbound traffic will be directed along Hibiscus Boulevard to Dairy Road to reach U.S. 192, while northbound drivers should follow U.S. 192 to Dairy Road and back to Hibiscus Boulevard.
Detour signs have been posted to guide motorists through the area. City officials expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and understanding as the necessary work is completed.
