BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Florida State Senator Debbie Mayfield (District 19) visited Port Canaveral this week, where she met with port leadership to receive an update on current operations and future development initiatives.

Port officials briefed Mayfield on ongoing cargo and commercial space operations, along with a detailed overview of planned capital improvement projects designed to enhance the port’s infrastructure and economic growth.

As part of the visit, the senator participated in a waterside tour aboard Canaveral Fire Rescue’s Fireboat 2.

Port Canaveral leaders emphasized that the improvements will support both maritime and aerospace industries, strengthening the port’s role as a critical hub for Florida’s transportation and commercial space sectors.
