BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – It is with heavy hearts that we announce Lexis Julia Margaret Jordan (Lexi), 25, died suddenly on January 2, 2026.

Lexi was born at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, Florida, on August 15, 2000, to Marcia and Ben Jordan. She attended Merritt Island High School (Class of 2019) and later received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 2023.

The world lost a perfect soul that touched so many. Lexi was beautiful inside and out. She was the first person to offer a helping hand and put her loved ones first in every situation. Lexi was a bright light in every room she walked into and never failed to make people laugh.

There was an immeasurable joy that surrounded her. She gave the best hugs, had the most gorgeous smile, and a contagious laugh. Lexi shared her creativity with the world, and the dance community will be forever changed for the better because of her contributions.

Many in Florida, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, Chicago, and around the country will feel this loss. Those close to Lexi will continue her legacy by carrying her bright light everywhere they go and supporting artists with similar burning passions for their craft.

Lexi spent the first 18 years of her life in Merritt Island, Florida. She loved going to Cocoa Beach, where her brother, Benjamin Jordan, taught her how to surf and where she spent time with her neighbors, Kylie Brogan and Haley Nelipowitz.

Lexi discovered her love for dance at Dance by Holly Rock, where she danced for 10 years with her friends Cara Eichin, Hayden Mucha, Taylor Straney, Patrick Daniel, Gracie Mucha, Tanner Thurn, Grace Malone, Addison Thurn, Kylie Turk, and Kennedy Chrisafulli.

When she wasn’t dancing, she spent her free time with her friends Julia Kay, Arianne Fleming, Liam Horne, Michael Deckers, and Marcos Sivira. After moving to Pittsburgh to attend Point Park University in 2019, she met her friends Mia Huber, Sophia Wantland, and Aves Wilde. She studied under dance educators Jae Man Woo, Kiesha Lalama, Shana Simmons, and Jason McDole.

Lexi met her loving boyfriend, Jared Sparrell, while visiting her friends at Florida State University in 2021. After graduating from Point Park University, Lexi and Jared moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she joined SALT Contemporary Dance and danced under Amy Gunter Lolofie, Nicole Von Arc, and Noelle Kayser.

In 2024, she moved to Chicago, Illinois, with Jared to pursue a professional dance career. She danced with Dance Colony + Artists Dance Company in 2025 and performed in their Totality show, choreographed by Talia Favia, Luca Tessarini, Jeff Wolfe, and Seth Robinson.

During the summers of 2023, 2024, and 2025, she was an assistant at the Creating WAVES Dance Intensive with her mentors, Jess Hendricks and Peter Chu, in Cocoa Beach, Florida, where she inspired other young dancers to pursue their passion for dance.

There was never a dull moment when Lexi was around. Whether she was exploring Merritt Island with her friends, rehearsing for a show, or discovering one of the many cities she lived in, everyone had a smile on their face when they were with her.

Lexi was a resilient soul who never gave up in pursuing her goals or learning new skills. She was steadfast in her journey as a professional dancer, and anyone lucky enough to see her dance was blessed to have seen such a beautiful talent. On top of dancing, she loved skiing with her loved ones in the mountains of Colorado and Utah, singing, and drawing.
